- Wearing make up every day is bad for your skin
False - Some beauty experts actually recommend wearing make up! When the correct foundation for your skin is worn, it can moisturise whilst acting as a barrier against the nasty things in the air!
- Shampoo stops working when you don’t change it up
True - Your hair builds up a resistance to your shampoo. Try changing to a different shampoo once in a while and see your hair improve!
- You can shrink the size of your pores
False - Pore size is genetic so don’t fall for the products claiming they can ‘Shrink your pores’. Exfoliating 3 times a week can minimise the appearance of pores.
- Toothpaste will get rid of pimples
False - We’re sure you all have heard of this one, but you could be making things worse. Mint toothpaste can cause drying and/or inflammation of the pimple.
- You’ll eventually outgrow acne
False - We wish! Sadly the older we are does not make us less likely to suffer with acne, in fact, having clear skin as a teenager isn’t a guarantee that you won’t get acne later in life. Say it ain’t so!
- Cutting hair makes it grow faster
False - It’s an illusion! Your hair doesn’t know about your latest trim, but you do notice it’s grown because the added length over time is in greater proportion to the total length.
- The neck ages at the same pace as your face
